Cator Park is a beautiful and historic park located in Aldersmead Road, Beckenham BR3 1NA. With its open green spaces, a brook with a children’s playground, tennis courts and picnic benches. It’s just a great out door space to enjoy the sun and fresh air!
Cator Park is named after the Cator family who were landowners in the area. Blackheath Park and mansion was purchased by John Cator (1723-1806) in 1783 and became Lord of the Manor of Beckenham in 1773.
Cator Park has an ornate pond, which is home to a wide variety of waterfowl, including swans, geese, and ducks. You can stroll around the pond and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, or even rent a rowing boat and explore the pond. Just make sure not to rock the boat too much! The pond also features a beautiful fountain which adds to the beauty of the park.
